A Letter

When was the last time your wrote yourself a letter? Take out your diary and grab your pen, you can use this one as a guide... Dear younger me,

I know at times it feels like you are alone, like no one understands you. The people who are supposed to love you unconditionally instead put you down constantly. Their words sting; their criticism makes you feel small and worthless. I understand why you believe the lies they tell you about yourself - you trust them.

But younger me, their words are untrue. The way they treat you says nothing about your value. Their cruelty stems from their own pain and insecurity. You have done nothing to deserve this. You are worthy, you are loved, you are enough.

I won't tell you it will be easy to realize this. Their voices will echo for a long time, trying to drown out your worth. But in time, you will see you don't need validation from people who won't give it genuinely. You will find your tribe, people who build you up. And you will learn that the only approval you really need is your own.

You will set boundaries with unsupportive people. You will speak up for yourself, and walk away when they try to tear you down. You will surround yourself with light and realize you don't have to live in the shadows. The more you embrace self-love, the less these people will dim your inner flame.

Younger me, you deserve to feel cherished and empowered. I know the road ahead has twists, but never forget your strength. Keep standing up for yourself. Keep removing negativity. Never accept cruelty just because it comes from those who are supposed to care. You are worthy of love without conditions. And one day you will look back amazed at how far you've come.
